How It Works
Partners-In-Practice provides optometry students an opportunity to fit a patient who lacks financial resources, with Paragon CRT® orthokeratology lenses. This program covers the cost of lenses for the patient.
The first step of the process is to become student-certified by completing the Paragon CRT® certification modules, here.
After completion of the fitting certification, Paragon Vision Sciences will provide two Paragon CRT® lenses that are complimentary and warrantied for the patient in need. Each student is allocated one patient per school year to provide Paragon CRT® lenses.
Paragon CRT® lenses are FDA approved up to -6.00D of myopia, with or without astigmatism of up to -1.75D. There are no age restrictions. Paragon will leave it to the discretion of the school to determine who is an eligible candidate.
Lenses can be ordered by phone or email from Paragon Vision Sciences. To order lenses email Charla Cano at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please call 1-800-528-8279 (option 2) to discuss with our technical consultation team any lens parameter modifications that may be needed for optimal fit.
Orthokeratology is considered a specialty contact lens fitting and is not covered by insurance. Because of this, we are unable to provide coverage regarding clinic and exam fees. However, we still wish to provide the opportunity for a student to prescribe and obtain a hand’s on fitting of an orthokeratology lens to a patient in need.
Paragon Gives Back
Why did we create Partners-In-Practice? At Paragon Vision Sciences we don’t just change vision, we change lives – and we take this seriously.
Paragon is a company that gives back, and we believe Partners-In-Practice is a helpful and practical way to do this. If you are a student, we encourage you to take part in this program and reach out to a patient in need.
